Shoal Creek Student Family Connection - "The ParenTeen Gathering Place", Summer Camp Info

Hi Families, here's your "need-to-know" info for your Buya and Crash Students:
1. Looking for some help navigating what parenthood looks like during the teenage years? Don't miss the 2/27 "ParenTeen Gathering Place" that's happening THIS SATURDAY NIGHT! Once a month our parents of adolescents gather to connect to others in the same life stage, going through the same things, to help move forward--and YOU can be a part it!
2. Are you a middle school family? Interested in sending your 6th-8th grade student to camp this summer? Then check this video and this website out and message Justin Talley if interested. So far we have about 8-10 Buya students already interested in going. I'd love to get 10-12! There is an informational meeting on Thursday 2/25, at 7pm, at South Valley Middle School in Liberty, for anyone interested in meeting the "Wyldlife" team, who is the owner/operater of the camp we're sending Buya students to. I suspect that it is at this meeting where registration details/costs/etc. will finally be released.
3. Are you a high school family that is also interested in sending your student to a summer camp? Please message me ASAP if so, as I need to get your contact info and get you the dates, costs, locations, etc.

Here's are the events/programs that are available weekly/every other week for our Shoal Creek "Buya" and "Crash" students:
  1. "Buyaprogram every Sunday at 11am in the Underground for all 6th-8th grade students.
  2. "Crash" (9th-12th grade) students can meet in The Attic every Sunday from 10:35am-11am for free breakfast, then attend the 11am service in the Auditorium as a group by sitting in the balcony.

Shoal Creek Student Family Connection - Dance Week

Hi Families, here's your "need-to-know" info for your Buya and Crash Students:
1. Want to help our students "double" their money? A "matching" gift has been offered to our students and we need your help getting there! A Shoal Creeker offered a "matching" gift of up to $2000 for whatever we raise at the Shoal Creek Family Valentine's Dance happening THIS Friday, February 12th.

There are still ways to take advantage of this wonderful matching gift opportunity:
  • Donate a gift basket, item, gift card, or service. To get to our traditional $1500 goal, we need about 40 total baskets/items donated. It's NOT too late to donate! Just message Justin personally with a description of your item so that he can copy/paste that description onto a bid sheet. Then, bring your item on Thursday from 2pm-7pm to Shoal Creek, or 5pm-6pm on Friday at Shoal Creek.
  • Consider giving a monetary donation to the Dance. Each year we set up a Donations jar by the dessert bar table. Instead of waiting for that, contact Justin Talley and give financially to take advantage of this matching gift offer. Your $100 donation instantly becomes $200 that can go towards supporting the student ministries.
  • Help us setup on Thursday Feb 11 from 5:30-7:00pm to make the dance as festive and fun as possible. No one is going to want to stick around if we can't color up the place a bit! Please think about RSVP'ing here to volunteer to help put up the decorations and set out the dance floor and tables. The more we have the sooner we can get it knocked out!
  • Invite other families to come with you! Just having more people there will accomplish two goals:  1) having more fun!, and 2) will drive the bidding up! So please think about attending and please think about brining another family with you.
2. Are you a middle school family? Interested in sending your 6th-8th grade student to camp this summer? Then check this video and this website out and message Justin Talley if interested. So far we have about 6-7 Buya students already interested in going. I'd love to get 10-12!
3. Are you a high school family? Have you heard about Young Life yet? If not, please click here to hear about how SC is exploring a relationship with the Young Life teams that exist in the Northland.
Here's what's available to students and how we communicate to student families weekly.

Shoal Creek Student Family Connection - Want to Help the Valentine's Dance "Double" Its Money?

Hi Families, here's your "need-to-know" info for your Buya and Crash Students:
1. Want to help our students "double" their money? A "matching" gift has been offered to our students and we need your help getting there! This past Sunday a Shoal Creeker offered a "matching" gift of up to $2000 for whatever we raise at the Shoal Creek Family Valentine's Dance on February 12th.

Normally this event raises about $1500-$2000, so with the matching gift we could see that turn into $3000-$4000 that could be poured back into the student ministry, or scholarship funds for summer trips, or other transformational experiences! For that to happen, we could really use your family's help in one of these ways:
  • Donate a gift basket, item, gift card, or service. To get to our traditional $1500 goal, we need about 40 total baskets/items donated. Right now, we only have 10 out of 40 needed to get to there. Please think about putting together a gift basket/donation and getting it to Justin Talley no later than Wednesday Feb 10th. Attached is a list of gift basket/donation ideas.

2. Are you a middle school family? Have you heard about Wyldlife yet? If not, please click here as I'm looking to take a group of Buya students to the Wyldlife launch on March 2nd and would love to have your student come with me!
3. Are you a high school family? Have you heard about Young Life yet? If not, please click here as I'm looking to take a group of Buya students to the Wyldlife launch on March 2nd and would love to have your student come with me!
